Yev O Phe
The debut album by the L.A. based band - ELEMENT, incorporates the sounds of Europe and the Mediterranean, while remaining free to be uniquely Armenian. The band takes great pains in striving to keep the Armenian songs pure, but through the use of bold arrangements and genuine sounds of instruments, succeeds in introducing exciting twists and compositions of traditional songs. Yev O Phe partners the classical guitar, violin, bass, accordion, bouzouki, mandolin, and keyboard, the distinct sounds of the band's vocalists, with colorful and warm exotic arrangements to bring a refreshing, and long-awaited, sound to Armenian music. |

Oo
"Oo" is the second sought after release from the L.A. based Element Band, which has evolved into a dynamic 9-member experience, lead by composer and arranger Ara Dabandjian. The first disc of the double album presents Armenian selections that take on Dabandjian's trademark arrangements that come to life through several unique instruments such as the Portuguese guitar and mandolin. Some of these selections have never before been introduced to the contemporary scene. The second disc is an embodiment of world tunes, including an Arabic original, along with Rembetika, Mexican traditional and other world music trends. |
